Boost Links Agent

Link boosting for your money pages

Every e-commerce site has money pages - the category and product pages that drive disproportionate revenue. Similar AI's Boost Links agent directs more internal links to these high-value pages, pushing them from positions 4-15 into the top results.

Link boosting works with your existing agents

The Boost Links agent enhances your existing Similar AI's Popular Links or Related Links agents. It uses a credit-based system where every page gets a budget of outbound links, and high-value pages receive priority with increased internal links from high-authority pages.

1

Start with a linking agent

You need an existing Related Links or Popular Links agent running on your site. The Boost Links agent modifies these; it can't work alone.

2

Enable link boosting

Turn on link boosting in your linking agent settings. Select money pages based on GSC ranking (positions 4-15 is the sweet spot).

3

Links are increased

The extra links appear naturally across your existing link blocks, giving your money pages increased internal link equity.

When to use link boosting

Link boosting is powerful but should be used selectively. It's a site-wide credit-based system that prioritizes high-value pages by giving them increased internal links, rather than being applied to every page equally.

Use link boosting when...

  • Your money pages rank positions 4-15 (close to page 1 or just off it)
  • Pages drive disproportionate revenue or conversions
  • GSC shows good impressions but low CTR (may indicate lower page-1 rankings or room to improve title tags and meta descriptions)
  • You want to push a small set of money pages (3-5% max)
  • Key pages have been stuck at the same ranking for months

Don't use link boosting when...

  • You want to boost every category page (defeats the purpose)
  • Pages are ranking positions 1-3 (consider deprioritizing these as they’re already performing well, though defensive boosting can still have value)
  • Pages are ranking 50+ (these typically need content improvement first, as internal links alone are unlikely to bridge the gap)
  • You don’t have an existing Related Links or Popular Links agent
  • Too many pages would be boosted (this may look unnatural to search engines)

Keep it selective

Link boosting increases links to your money pages. If applied too broadly, this may look unnatural to search engines and could dilute the impact. We recommend boosting no more than 3-5% of your indexed pages at any time.

How to enable link boosting on an existing agent

If you already have a Related Links or Popular Links agent running, enabling link boosting takes just a few clicks.

1

Open your existing linking agent

Go to your linking agents in the Similar AI dashboard and select the Related Links or Popular Links agent you want to enhance.

2

Navigate to the Boost Links section

In the agent settings, find the "Boost Links" toggle. The Boost Links agent works within existing Related Links or Popular Links blocks rather than creating its own, and it requires one of those agents to be active.

3

Enable link boosting

Toggle Boost Links on. You'll see options to configure which money pages should receive boosted links.

4

Select money pages to boost

Choose money pages based on GSC position (we recommend 4-15), revenue per session, or conversion rate. You can also manually select specific pages.

5

Preview and publish

Review how the boosted links will be distributed. When satisfied, publish and the agent will start adding the additional links to your money pages.

Why money page link boosting outperforms position-based boosting

Link boosting to pages ranking 4-15 delivered 8-23% traffic gains. Link boosting to money pages with the highest revenue per session delivered 47% - a substantially stronger result. Money pages already have strong quality signals from converting visitors into revenue. When you amplify them with more internal links, Google rewards them with better rankings.

Frequently asked questions

What are money pages and why do they matter for link boosting?

Money pages are the category and product pages on your site that generate disproportionate revenue. A typical e-commerce site often has thousands of pages, but a relatively small percentage drive most of the organic revenue. Link boosting focuses internal link equity on these money pages to push them higher in search results, directly increasing revenue.

Can I use the Boost Links agent without an existing linking agent?

No. The Boost Links agent enhances an existing Related Links or Popular Links agent. It uses a credit-based system that prioritizes internal links to high-value pages. If you’t have a linking agent running, start by setting up the Related Links or Popular Links agent first.

How do I identify which money pages to boost?

Position 4-15 boosting is one tested strategy worth considering, but the primary recommendation is to boost high-value pages based on revenue per session. These pages drive disproportionate revenue, and additional internal links can help push them higher. You can also filter by impressions (high impressions, low clicks) or conversion rate. Consider deprioritizing pages ranking 1-3 (they’re already performing well) or 50+ (they may need content work first).

What percentage of pages should I boost?

We recommend boosting no more than 3-5% of your indexed pages. Link boosting increases links to specific money pages, which may look unnatural if overdone. Keep it selective and focus on your highest-revenue opportunities.

How quickly will I see results from link boosting?

Internal link changes can take several weeks or more to impact rankings, depending on how frequently Google crawls your site. Boosted money pages can see increased Googlebot crawl activity after changes are indexed, but ranking changes take longer to materialize.

Can I use link boosting with both Related Links and Popular Links agents?

Yes. If you’re running both a Related Links and a Popular Links agent on your site, you can enable link boosting on one or both. Just be careful not to over-boost; if the same money pages are boosted by multiple agents, they might receive too many links.

What’s the difference between Boost Links and the Top Links agent?

The Top Links agent shows the same top pages on every page in a section. The Boost Links agent doesn’t show the same links everywhere; it uses a credit-based system to increase internal links to targeted money pages. The links still vary by source page, but boosted pages appear more often.

Will link boosting make my site look spammy?

Not if used correctly. It’s very common for a search engine to find the same links on every page - that’s what the top nav is. In a way, link boosting uses data-driven internal linking to give additional visibility to pages ranking in positions 4-15 where extra link equity can push them into top results. This is very organic and something that’s very common. But if you overuse it - boosting too many of your pages - it may start to look strange. Keep it selective and the distribution stays natural.
